The Quadrooplettes. Yes, there are four of them. Yes, they are gothy-
the genre that will never die. People always love embracing the darker,
more pessimistic side of themselves. Not everyone can be perky and
happy all the time. With the multiculturalism of the world, why not half
human, half zombie kids?
Let’s channel Vincent Price, Emily Strange, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac
and Lenore comics, Edward Gorey and Tim Burton for a while. Our four-some is: two boys and two girls. People think they are two sets
of twins, but that is not the case. Their mysterious dad leaves the
children in a big basket in front of mother’s mausoleum. Their father
(legal guardian) is on the run (for what reason we will find out).
Sometimes comes back as a shadowy figure and leaves them things.
[He is grave robbing to rebuild their mom]. He is a scientist and she was already undead. They met at a séance and fell in love.
Occasionally there are mystery relatives, visiting spooks who come to see
the children and give guidance. Different spirits who come up from their
graves at the cemetery also teach the kids a thing or two about “life”
and how to handle it.Some out there know the truth about the children…
The children are strangely independent. Sometimes they dress up
skeletons as parents for PTA meetings, etc.. Their bus stop is at
cemetery gates. They of course deal with problems at school with other
kids. They do have a grown up figure in their lives: Roger the grounds-
keeper. They help him dig fresh graves- find things in the dirt- clues
about their parents and other things they are learning about. The Quadrooplettes have sidekicks- 2 gay pet lizards- who run around the grounds named Elton & Jasper.
